The BMW 3.0 CSL , the racing version of the BMW E9 CSL, was introduced in 1974 with the aim of redefining the boundaries of automotive racing. By using state-of-the-art four-valve technology and powerful turbocharging, this extraordinary car achieved an engine output of up to 590 kW – a performance previously only achieved by the legendary Porsche 917. The famous racing driver Ronnie Peterson was reportedly able to spin the tires in this car at speeds over 250 km/h, even while accelerating, underscoring its immense power and agility. The BMW 3.0 CSL is therefore not only a symbol of speed, but also a masterpiece of engineering finesse and an important part of racing history.
