The twelfth 1000km race at Spa-Francorchamps took place on September 4, 1983. Jacky Ickx and Jochen Mass, among others, competed for the Rothmans factory Porsche Team in the Porsche 956 with chassis number 005. The two drivers repeated their success from 1982, crossing the finish line as overall winners after 144 laps with a time of 5:44:33.
