Goodwood, August 18, 1962 : In the light green UDT-Laystall-Ferrari 250 GTO – the first GTO with right-hand drive – Innes Ireland wins the Tourist Trophy (starting number 15). Stirling Moss was originally supposed to drive the car for the UDT-Laystall team, but after his accident and retirement at Goodwood, Innes Ireland took the win. Ireland later enthused: "We picked up the car in Maranello, drove it straight to Goodwood, and after a quick change of spark plugs and tires, started a one-hour test on the track." History was then made.
